چکیده
Background: Recent researches suggest that hematological profiles vary during SARS-CoV-2 infection. Patients with COVID-19 have a lower peripheral blood lymphocyte count in the early stages of disease. Aim study: To evaluate if level at admission can be used as predictor for severity and mortality Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted ward Al-Khidhir General Hospital period one year. It included 350 patients who diagnosed infection admitted isolation wards. Complete including WBC, hemoglobin, platelet count, neutrophil monocyte were assessed. Severity disease categorized into mild, moderate, severe, critical. Results: In this study, severe had significant means (0.84 versus 1.73 *109/µl, P= 0.001). The cut point N/L ratio 1.0 *109/µl. Hence, < 109/µl is predictive or critical stage COVID-19. Conclusion: Hematological indices are easy cheap way assessing clinical progress One parameter which show our correlation between stage. Lower to sever form

Background: Researchers have already reported a high level of interleukin (IL)-6 in patients affected by Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). In this study, we investigated the surge of IL-6 level and its association with the clinical and paraclinical markers in these patients. Materials and Methods: The study sample comprised 205 confirmed hospitalized p...

متن کاملAbsolute Lymphocyte Count as a Predictor of Mortality in Emergency Department Patients with Paraquat Poisoning
BACKGROUND Paraquat (PQ) is a potent, highly toxic and widely used herbicide. The major medical problems associated with PQ are accidental or suicidal ingestion. There are several prognostic markers of PQ poisoning, with the serum PQ concentration considered to be the best indicator of outcome. However, the measurement of such markers is limited in many hospitals. OBJECTIVE The present study ...
